Magali Massoud is a Fine Arts graduate, currently pursuing a masters degree at the Sorbonne in Paris. Her works are born from a series of questions; “what is full and what is empty”, “what separates the spirit from the body”, “what are frontiers and are there any at all?”. By revelation of the flesh, this series of paintings shed a dark light over the meanders within one’s self. The correlation of the spatial qualities of the canvas and the expandable space serve to further constrain the body within itself to manifest that duality. Her experience in Fine Arts have shaped and broadened the artist’s perception of the many practices and ideological aspects of art. Over time, Massoud’s interests have evolved, mutating from singular creation to a more collaborative approach.
