A red line of undisclosed length, Period Piece is an ongoing series of work embodied in various mediums. Rizkallah explores the idea of a lifeline that interacts with the subject as an extended limb. The intimate line, that is both an essential elongation of the self and a source of discomfort, shows the finite energy that the subject encapsules. It is the hypothetical menstrual cycle, stripped away from gender, to become an expression of life, rage and continuity.Born in 1993 in Beirut, where he lives and works, Rizkallah is an emerging artist working as both a painter and a digital artist. In 2016, his solo exhibition Aftertaste was exhibited at the Beirut Art Residency. His work was recently published in the Imago Mundi publication by the Luciano Benetton Foundation as part of an index of contemporary Lebanese artists.
